RADIESSE FAQ 1
Radiesse® is a dermal filler made by Bioform Medical Inc. Radiesse® is compose of calcium hydroxyapetite, the same substance that is found in your bones naturally. The calcium hydroapetite is suspended in a gel carrier, making it flow better. Radiesse® tends to feel "harder" when injected than Juvederm® or Restylane®, and thus is often used to augment more "bonier" areas of the face like the nose or chin. It is also used to reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds. Radiesse® should never be done in the lips.
Radiesse® has been shown to last up to 1 year in patients, but results will vary.
Radiesse® is well tolerated by most patients. Numbing creams can help with any discomfort.
Radiesse® has now been FDA approved for lidocaine mixing to enhance patient comfort. Your injector will also mix some lidocaine with the Radiesse® to provide extra comfort.
Post-treatment injection sites will have some redness and swelling. Most patients can return to work the next day without any problems.
Happy Clinic Denver, Colorado charges $550 for the first syringe of Radiesse® and $450 for each subsequent syringe. These prices are for a full 1.5 cc of Radiesse®. Most patients need 1-2 syringes for full correction of nasolabial folds(smile lines).
